Title: Marco Island Historical Society Lecture Series
Wes Cowan, star of the PBS series History Detectives and featured appraiser on the Antiques Roadshow, will speak on archival preservation of historic Americana, Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Mackle Park on Marco Island. This is the sixth lecture in the Marco Island Historical Society’s 2005-2006 Lecture Series. The free presentation is open to the public.

The Adventures of a Real-Life History Detective
Through popular television shows such as History Detectives and CSI, the public is learning more about the importance of archival institutions and the role they play in maintaining historical records. Wes Cowan, owner of Cowan’s Auctions, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio, star of the PBS television series History Detectives and guest appraiser on Antiques Roadshow, will offer his unique perspective on the evolving role of archival institutions and share some of his interesting adventures.
