stamped sheet steel of the above name made by the American Banking Machine Company, Saginaw, Mich. Front has embossed Greek temple-style building front with Door To Success above the central arched doors, shelf below with 4 slots to deposit various-sized coins, in old silver paint, made to hang on wall or rest on table, 13" x 6" x 13.5" high.

17.    FOLK ART WHIMSICAL BUILDING BANK,

wonderfully constructed folk art sculpture of a town hall or bank building made from stamped sheet steel and brass soldered together. The single story building has a mansard roof with scalloped widow's walk, working gutters and downspouts, rear chimney has slot for coins at top. Front has domed porch with electric lamp surmount, front gable end with encased dollar-type pocket watch, signed on white painted face Biltmore. This watch has a cone and ball finial above at widow's walk, which is attached to the watch stem to wind mechanism; double front doors with hasp for locking with small pad lock, 2 half-circle steps, leading down to a picket fenced yard (fence in steel) with working hinged front gate, two working pole lamps and two yard benches. All on a rectangular steel plate base with rounded corners, sides with double 2 over 2 windows and rear with one matching window. All in original polychrome paint of gold, green, yellow, red and gray, wired with plug at rear base; 12" wide x 13" long x 14" high.

ca 1895-1915, designed and patented by Russell Frisbie of Cromwell, Conn., on June 23, 1896. Manufactured by JE Stevens; 10" long x 2.8" wide x 7" high. This bank appears to be a marriage of the "William Tell" Figure from one old bank and the base of a "Creedmore Rifleman Bank", likely done at the factory as we have seen more than one of these.
