all copper with hinged lid and metal spring on back and brass belt loops. Top of lid marked B. Kittredge & Co. Patented Jan 27, 1863 Reissued Apl [sic] 14, 1863. These were used to carry 44 rimfire cartridges, quite likely for the Frank Wesson carbine, and possibly the Henry rifle as well.

19th century American with thread-sewn parfleche pouch with folded front flap, old worn canvas strap to which is attached a carved horned with original ring carved spout, which is a separate piece of bone attached with iron brads, flat spruce/pine plug end with iron wire for attaching strap and an antler tine powder measure attached with copper wire. In addition there is a rectangular block of lead attached with string. Bag is 9" wide x 8.5" high, strap is 12", horn is 9.7" long, measure is 2.5" long and lead is .5" x .5" x 1.3" long. All with fine old patina.
