Printed by E. J. Ellis, Printer and bearing the date March 28, 1844; 21.5" x 17.5" (w/o frame), 23.25" x 19" (w/ frame).The Tariff and Whig references likely refer to the various Tariff Laws passed between the years 1835-1844 before Texas achieved statehood; when the Territory achieved the bulk of its income by importing goods from Europe. Texas was annexed in 1845.
